Honestly, the whole week that we waited to head off base was WORTH IT! Tonight was like the epitome of nostalgia. I was able to get my hands on some "Coolish", smell that sweet sweet smell of the Asian railway system, eat some delicious Korean noodles, and all in all enjoy this amazing country! Everything about tonight brought so many memories back from Japan and how the summer changed my life! Tomorrow we are headed out to climb the Seoul Tower all 1400 steps!!! It's going to be a great day tomorrow! Korea!!!! Let's do it!
So another summer is off to another start with one of the most AMAZING opportunities that I have ever had the chance to be apart of! Camp Adventure! So this summer I am going to be spending the next 10 or so weeks in Yongsan, South Korea!! This week was all about orientation week and it has been a long one at that. So far this site has been a very exciting one to start out since Camp has been coming here since the program started 27 years ago, and so that means that the expectations have been set very high for us.
The fact that I'm directing Aquatics this summer has also been apart of the enhancement with this year's Camp experience. My staff is great and so is all of the other people I have been able to meet in Korea thus far! Today we had a chance to hangout with the kids and do a Blitz for them which was pure euphoria!! This program has and will have forever changed my life and I am so grateful for it!
Tonight will be the first time that we will be able to head out into the town and into the country of Korea! All of the counselors here, and myself as well, are beyond excited to start out on our adventure in a nation that we will all call home for the next 9 weeks! I cannot wait to get started!!
